Executive Director, Lia Holla, Steps Down

Dear Colleagues,

It is with some regret that I announce the resignation of our executive director, Lia Holla. Since high school she has been engaged in the peace and disarmament space with a vigour and enthusiasm that has been remarkable. In this time, she has helped IPPNWC reinvigorate itself to become a trusted voice as we work to rid the world of the nuclear threat. She has helped us a volunteer, a board member and in various staff roles. Her work in disarmament education, her shepherding of our intern program and her painstaking efforts in collaborating with fellow organizations and parliamentarians.

Lia goes on to the next step in her life.

We wish her well in her efforts and know that she will add lustre to any endeavour in which she is involved.

We are heartened that she will continue a relationship with IPPNWC and its mission which she has so lovingly and competently embraced. We look forward to her continued involvement, particularly in the domain of peace and disarmament education.

In typical selfless fashion, Lia is working assiduously to recruit her replacement. To this end we will be posting a job description which we hope you might make available to candidates who might be interested.

We will miss Lia. It is unusual to have someone so young to take on the various tasks that she has completed to such a high standard and with such spirit. We will miss her cheery voice on the end of the phone, her smiling face on Zoom, and her thoughtful welcoming presence in person.

We request your understanding as IPPNWC navigates this transition. We hope we can maintain the relationships and the momentum that Lia has helped us create.
